The origins of the brand were, in the 1930s, a small shoe store created by Mr Jean Sartore, located in Breil-sur-Roya in the hinterland
Nice.
In 1959, his son Paul and his wife Marcelle created the first factory, where they manufactured their own brand of moccasins with spiked driving soles called Sportsouple.
From this great success a second label will be born. With Esquire, new models will see the light of day; models for men with a "Blake stitched" assembly, as well as for women, their first riding boots.
For decades, the house will continue to adapt to trends, always in search of the best leathers and the most beautiful patinas. The 70s and their first clogs, then later the boots with single, double, triple or even quadruple skates that will place the brand in the spirit of the times.
