Heritage

The origins of the brand were, in the 1930s, a small shoe store created by Mr Jean Sartore, located in Breil-sur-Roya in the hinterland
Nice.

In 1959, his son Paul and his wife Marcelle created the first factory, where they manufactured their own brand of moccasins with spiked driving soles called Sportsouple.

From this great success a second label will be born. With Esquire, new models will see the light of day; models for men with a "Blake stitched" assembly, as well as for women, their first riding boots.

For decades, the house will continue to adapt to trends, always in search of the best leathers and the most beautiful patinas. The 70s and their first clogs, then later the boots with single, double, triple or even quadruple skates that will place the brand in the spirit of the times.

The couple will pass on to their daughters, Catherine and Françoise, trained since childhood in the culture of shoes, the intuition of beautiful work, it was in 1980, in full boom of ready-to-wear - and two years after joining their parents - that the latter will create the label SARTORE, symbol of another way of wearing shoes. Today it is the turn of Catherine and Françoise to gradually pass on to their respective sons, Jules and Romain, the tools that will make the label a brand that is still relevant in the years to come.

Over the ages, Sartore will always know how to reinvent herself. She will often juggle between masculine and feminine:

Whether it is by reinterpreting the American Santiague in the 80s, or the Babies of childhood in the junior line of the 90s "Sartore Sisters", or by imagining a unisex range from the beginning of the 2000s. The family label always keeps as its leitmotif "product quality and customer requirements"
lines”.

At the end of the 90s, the brand was about to experience a major turning point in its history. The brand is now manufactured in Italy in the most conscientious workshops, a guarantee of technicality and quality, and mainly using vegetable-tanned leathers.

Already distributed throughout the world in the most luxurious points of sale, SARTORE will open its new Parisian boutique in 2011, at number 3 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, a showcase for their history and their know-how, with a timeless but recognizable style.

"The SARTORE woman"

Over the decades it has remained elusive.
Yet we seem to know it, to recognize it.

Spontaneous, adventurous, as comfortable in the hustle and bustle of big cities as in the calm of the countryside, she is a citizen of the world.

Her free-spirited demeanor is spontaneous. She is not very inclined to social or clothing protocols and lets herself be guided by the feeling of the present moment, while having her head on her shoulders, knowing what she wants.

Its sophistication is natural, discreet, but poetic and classy.
Its refined but enigmatic seduction.

The heroine SARTORE has remained true to herself at every major stage of life: a gently teasing teenager, a young woman with a strong character or a woman with a philosophical and peaceful maturity.

She has always had the same enthusiastic and serene outlook on life, in its trials as in its joys.

She values a job well done and a neat piece of work.

She always moves forward with a sure step, with the ultimate goal of seeing beyond a
horizon that she knows to be multiple and infinite.
