Caring for your shoes

To ensure the longevity of your shoes, you will need to take good care of them.
Just like your skin, your shoes require special and frequent attention. With regular maintenance, shoes will keep their original appearance and be protected from moisture.

Some tips to get started

Waterproof your shoes before wearing them .
Waterproofers are used on smooth leathers, suedes and exotic skins.

Never let your shoes dry near a heat source .
Once your shoes have become damp, do not store them near a source of heat or humidity, and do not expose them to direct sunlight in order to preserve the material and colour.
Heat can harden leather and make it brittle. Use shoe trees and let them air dry. Using shoe trees is recommended to restore shoes to their original shape, reduce creases, and help moisture evaporate.

Change your shoes every day . It is advisable to change your shoes every day to let them dry for at least 24 hours.

Do not leave your shoes in contact with alcoholic, greasy or abrasive products, which could alter the quality of the leather .

Soles, half soles

SARTORE soles are all made of leather with the exception of the “BIKER” type models which are made of rubber.
We recommend that you wear your shoes for 2 weeks before asking your shoemaker to add a natural rubber pad so that the shoe can continue to breathe.
These first hours of use will allow abrasion of the leather and guarantee perfect adhesion of the skate.
